i was a poor jw.
lived in the worst part of town.. there were rich jws in our congregation, or so it seemed.
they had businesses, lived in a nice part of town, always a new car, etc.
We had some rich ones in our cong.they had nice houses and cars and went on great vacations. i didn't care mostly they were pretty generous and had some fun parties for everyone
The ones I didn't like much were the self righteous ones condemning everybody who seemed to get any enjoyment out of life.

anyway, in the new december 1st, public edition of the wt, in an article titled "will the earth survive 2012?
" an actual paragraph says this:.
Aside from when the real issue is their harping on the idea that the ones who are not highly motivated jw's will be destroyed by that ever loving terrorist god in very terrible ways .

when did this program begin?.
i wish i could have been there to hear how the convention speaker presented a dumbed-down version of the watchtower to an arena full of people who have been discouraged from education in the first place.. .

much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.
Often say rather innocently " we didn't see the weather report". That is of course the most common excuse although there's always the alien abductions with the same story " we were driving along when suddenly our car started acting weirdly and all we remember was that we were probed and when we woke up it was snowing". There was also the couple who only remember drinking and gambling somewhere in nevada getting in their car making some wrong turns and wondering how they got here.

I haven't read the daily journal from the beginning but since we are all experiencing pains both physical and mental it's good to share ideas.
Recently, I started listening to lectures by a man named Bruce Lipton he is a biologist who has discovered some interesting connections between our biology and the conscious and subconscious mind. He is very lively in his delivery and very intelligent he has many videos on line that you can just listen to and I've found them intrigueing.

...i told them in a very serious sitdown in their living room....said..."because if you cant show it then it does not count...that is not real love no matter who tells you it is....because it is how it makes me feel that determines if it is love....not if you just say it...and me and my sons do not feel that love at all now"....and i stayed calm and talked slowly and barely shed a tear as i held them back...and i had asked them to not say a word but just listen...dad said they would as long as it was not about religion as i knew he would.
this was two of the worst days of my life in a row..i told them the pain me and my boys feel from their shunning is worse than if they had died...that then i could grieve naturally and move on because that is normal....grief helps you cope...my grief is different because they choose to act like i am dead and normal grief does not seem to work on that.
i shared an epiphany with them i had about mens rules vs gods great idea of dna (but no i am not sure about a god anymore)it went kinda like this:.
The organization teaches people to play this horrible game of chicken . They hold your family hostage thinking you'll give in but its important as you have found out to protect yourself and do what you need to go on with your life. Your parents have chosen something and they have to live with it they don't mind inflicting pain on you so let them live completely with their choice. You have to think about yourself and what you can live with and not drag out the pain. your relationship with them is over so be it.

they should just present them with an exit menu with about a dozen choices just like it is at any restaurant because it is a tradition strange as it may seem.
